We’re excited to be attending the Wonky Tea Party in aid of Friends of Animals Wales. We’ll cram as much as we can onto the stall, but if you want anything specially made or personalised to collect on the day please let us know asap.
It’s all happening at Tongwynlais Village Hall on 22nd Sept, starting at 11am and ending at 3pm.
We have just finished setting up in our wooden Craft Folk cabin.
We are close to where we were last time we were here in November; facing Howells, with our backs to the old library. We’re here until December 17th.
It’s rather nice down here today- quite cold but calm and dry. Lots of relaxed people strolling.
We’re making stock and getting ready to attend the CraftFolk market in Cardiff city centre.
We’ll be there from Tuesday 17th December 2015 until Sunday 21st. Trading times are 10am to 5.30pm, closing half an hour earlier on Sunday. We’re not yet sure precisely where we’ll be, but we expect to be in a wooden cabin facing John Lewis, with our back to the Old Library.
We hope to see you there!
We’re attending another CraftFolk event this weekend in Cardiff Bay. We’ll be in the area near Weatherspoons, Carluccios etc – look out for the red and white striped tents. The stalls will be open from 10 am to 5:30 pm.
At the same time the Harbour Festival is taking place, Cardiff Bay Beach continues at the Oval Basin and on Sunday and Monday we’ll hear the roar of the Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea. Plenty of opportunity for a great day out with lots to see and do.
For more detail, see the CraftFolk website.
We’re excited to report that we’ve managed to get a stall at the Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly on the weekend of 25th and 26th July.
This festival has been going for eighteen years and keeps getting bigger. We last had a stall there a couple of years ago, and it was a spectacular event; stalls and activities, music, food and mock medieval battles taking over the whole town for the weekend. All this is crowned by the spectacular backdrop of Caerphilly Castle.
Caerphilly Council think there may be as many as 80,000 people attending over the weekend. It won’t be a good time try to navigate Caerphilly’s one-way system, but there are free bus shuttles into town and affordable park and ride arrangements.
Once you get to Caerphilly, entrance to the event is free. We’ll be there in CraftFolk‘s red and white striped tents, we hope to see you.
We’ve got places at two more events before Christmas
Fourpaws Animal Rescue are holding one of their regular Paws4Tea events on Saturday 13th December from 2-4.30pm. It’s taking place at Heath Citizen Community Hall off King George V Drive East, Cardiff, CF14 4EP.
These events are always lively, with lots going on; stalls, refreshments, fun, friendly people and dogs.
The second event is Cowbridge Christmas Craft Fair and Children’s Fun Day. This takes place on Sunday 14th December from 10am to 4pm at Cowbridge Leisure Centre.
This is a large craft event which is expected to have around 100 stalls. There is also a childrens fun event, which includes a bouncy castle, face painting, pottery painting, sand art, mascots and much more.
… and of course if you can’t make either of these events you’re welcome to get in touch or order online.
We’ve got two fairs lined up for the coming weekend.
The first takes place at Cardiff High School on Friday evening (5th December), organised by the Parents & Teachers’ Association.
It opens between 6pm and 9pm. We’ve not been to this one before, but from what we’ve heard they do it in style – there will be over thirty stalls.
The following day, Saturday 6th December, we’ll be at Bethany Baptist Church in Rhiwbina. This is the church in Heol Llanishen Fach (we’ve been warned there’s sometimes some confusion).
Their fair is open between 10am and 4pm and coincides with their Christmas Tree Festival.
Our planned event at Western Leisure Centre was cancelled at the last minute, but we’ve been fortunate to get a space at Roath Market instead.
The craft market is held inside the Mackintosh Community Centre (38 Keppoch Street, Roath, Cardiff, CF24 3JW) between 9:30 am and 1 pm, while the Roath Food Market is held outdoors in the car park.
We’ve not attended this one for a long time, but it’s always been fun and it’s good to be back. There are lots of interesting craft stalls, friendly people, and fantastic food outside.
More details at http://www.roathmarket.co.uk/
EDIT: This event has been cancelled ‘due to illness’. We’ll be going to Roath instead (details in the following post).
There’s a Christmas craft fair / fun day for children, at Western Leisure Centre tomorrow – 12 – 4pm.
Woodwasp will be there for Christmas goodies.
We’re excited to be attending the South Wales Dog & Family Fun Day next Monday 26th May. We’ve heard a lot of good things about this event, but this is the first time we’ve been able to be there.
There will be fun dog show, competitions, demonstrations, falconry, entertainment, music as well as trade stands like ours, all the grounds of the fabulous Fonmon Castle (near Cardiff Airport).
We’ll have our range of candle holders (including a few new designs), our ever expanding menagerie of animal ornaments, jewelery, engraved boxes and wooden postcards.
The event is open to the public from 9am to 5pm, and so far the weather forecast looks good! We hope to see you there.
