First Fairs of 2013

After the Christmas rush everyone took a well earned breather, but new events are starting to appear and we’ll be taking the opportunity to show off our products:

  • 2nd February we’re back at Roath Craft Market.   It’s open from 9:30 to 13:00 in the Mackintosh Community Centre on Keppoch Street.
  • On 9th February we’re attending the first of Marshall Crafts’ new events at Whitchurch Community Centre.  That’s open from 11:00 to 14:00.  While one of us is packing up here, the other one will be …
  • … joining our old friends at Four Paws Animal Rescue at Llandaff Community Centre.  Their Paws4Tea event is open from 13:00 to 15:30, raising funds and having fun with lots of friendly dogs.
  • and finally (for the moment) on 10th February we’ll be attending the Truly Handmade ‘Love Themed’ Gift Fair.  That’s in the Paget Rooms in Penarth from 11:00 to 15:00.

Last Fairs for 2012

Yesterday (Saturday 15th) we attended our last two craft fairs for the year.

Stella returned to the regular craft market at Roath while Richard visited an event at Penarth Conservative Club, which was organised to raise funds for the local cancer charity Tenovus.

To celebrate our first appearance in Penarth we created a new candle arch featuring Penarth Pier.  The Victorian pavilion is currently covered in scaffolding as it undergoes a major renovation, so our candle arch may be the best view of the pier that is available until it reopens next year!

The animal decorations continued to be popular, particularly the acrylic dragons.

While we won’t be attending any more craft fairs this year we’re still happy to post out orders and are selling part of our range on Ebay.

Two events and lots of new designs

Last Saturday morning (8th December) we were lucky enough to squeeze into the Roath Craft Market for a second time as they had been given some more space to use, so were able to set up more stalls.  It was a very different day to our last visit, when most of Britain was experiencing heavy rain and there were floods in North Wales and South West England.

This time we enjoyed a lovely sunny day and, because the extra rooms were in use customers could use the main entrance from the farmers’ market rather than having to walk around to the other side of the building.  Much better.  Everyone was much more cheerful, warmer and drier!

We used the occasion to debut a new design based on the Scott Memorial in Roath Park.Roath Park Lake and Scott Memorial

In the afternoon we hurried across to a second event in Splott, a fund raiser for Four Paws Animal Rescue.  Four Paws is an animal rescue charity which arranges for animals to be looked after by volunteer foster carers until they can find a new home.  Our dog, Dylan, is a Four Paws rescue dog.

We spent the afternoon in a packed room in St Albans Rugby Club, surrounded by stalls, fun activity and friendly dogs.  We had created a range of animal themed Christmas designs which we unveiled at this event.

Roath Craft Market

We’ve been fortunate to get a space at Roath Craft Market this Saturday, 24th November.  All available spaces have been booked up for some time, but they were able to squeeze us in due to cancellation.

The market takes place in the Mackintosh Community Centre, 38 Keppoch Street, Roath, Cardiff, CF24 3JW.  It is open to the public from 9:30am to 1pm.  The Roath Farmers Market takes place at the same time in the car park outside, so you can get cheese, organic veg and cakes as well as freshly picked crafts.
